In this time and age when the new media is reigning supreme, there is no way that you could afford to be out of the bandwagon. Every organization, be it big, medium or small, wants to get a slice of the internet pie and therefore, the World Wide Web is dotted with these brick n mortar companies, floating their own online websites. To further add to the traffic, you also have a substantial share of companies that exist only in the cyber space. So, now if you think your company also needs to foray into the online media and have a web presence, then the most important lesson which you need to imbibe is that, this presence must be felt by the users who matter. In other words, your online website, which would be the face of your company, must be known, recognized and popularized by your group of target audience who browse the net. If you have realized this basic truth, then you must also agree that, to give your online website the competitive edge over others, you would need professional help and your best bet in this case would be to hire a competentsearch engine marketing company.

Why, you may ask, can the advertisers and marketeers who handle a normal brick and mortar company very well, not handle your website optimization and marketing as well? The answer lies in specialization. The internet is a completely different medium, where only a person with specific knowledge and experience in handling this medium, can analyze the need and demand of the internet user. Only professionals of asearch engine marketing company can understand an online user’s psychology and present your website in a manner, so that it meets the exact requirement of your target audience, bang on. Now, there are certain criteria to make your website as relevant as possible to the user and also to optimize your website rankings on the popular search engines. Attracting the necessary traffic is also a skill perfected by professionals in asearch engine marketing company and therein lies the relevance and need to hire such a company to handle your online website.

The various tricks of the trade used by a search engine marketing company would be, posting keyword heavy articles and press releases in the right forums, article syndication, link building with similar but more popular websites, initiating and participating in various discussion platforms and of course, social media optimization. The content of your website is the most crucial aspect when you are aiming at high ranking on the search engines. A search engine marketing firm will ensure that your website is high on the content, design and usability quotient, thereby increasing its relevancy and importance for the target audience.

It is also the search engine marketing company that will provide your website with high rankings on the popular search engines to ensure that the right kind of traffic, is guided to your website, providing you with efficient PPC campaign management and ample opportunity for converting potential consumers into actual customers. Hence, if you are keen on promoting your online business in the most effective manner then employing the professional services of a SEM (search engine marketing) firm is the smart decision to be taken.

Using search engine optimization for one-way link building is the most important factor for getting a high keyword ranking. Because search engines list their results from your link popularity, SEO positioning should be your number one strategy for high pagerank.

SEO Tip #1

When utilizing an aggressive linking campaign, don’t start linking into multiple domain networks which are all hosted on the same server or buying a series of links hosted within a single IP addresses. What your website needs are natural links that will be gained over a period of time. One of the best ways to achieve this is to comment on do-follow blogs (not spamming, but commenting on a few per day) where your website link is naturally growing.

SEO Tip #2

The pagerank quality of those sites you want to link to you must appear natural to the search engines. Be careful to not only link to sites with a high page rank of 8 or 9. You should also seek links from a good range of sites with both high and low page rank values. This is especially the case for new sites and submitting articles to the various article directories will achieve this.

SEO Tip #3

Try looking at your link campaign from a purely scientific view. Basically, you need to find out what the visitors to your site are searching for and then find out which phrases convert to sales and then target your link text towards these visitors. Once you have determined your highest value phrases, you then apply those phrases in the anchor text you request from your link partners. Using this method allows you to request links based on the highest Return Of Investment (ROI), as well as appearing natural to the search engine spiders.

By applying the strategies above, you will attain a linking campaign that is both relevant and highly targeted to your main search phrases. Link quality is far more important than link quantity and anchor text is more important than pagerank.

After putting a lot of thought into how to best use RSS feeds on your website and then creating them on your website, the next step is to promote them. As with any kind of marketing, where and how you advertise your website can determine the amount of visitors. The same applies to RSS feeds.

As you create your RSS feeds, keep in mind that the title should contain optimal search keywords. The more keywords contained, the more likely you are to have your feed come up when a particular search string is entered. This is not to say you should cram every possible keyword into the title of the RSS feed. Instead, keep in mind that you can have up to 15 different titles listed for the same link, article, content, etc. when creating the original RSS file.

Use descriptors to attract visitors to your site by tempting them to click on your feed. Think of text that will enhance your content, but not make it appear irrelevant. People are less likely to click on a RSS feed if it doesn’t fit their needs and wants. By keeping the descriptors concise, but also tempting, you will drive people to click on your link over someone else’s.

In keeping with the keyword search, don’t forget that you can now search by theme. Use this to your advantage and group your RSS feeds into themes. When submitting them to search engines, group the feeds into specific themes. This can help bring your feeds up more often when similar themes are searched.

When you add RSS feeds from other companies, you can tell your website how to react when the feed is clicked on. Rather than have visitors transported to the new site, have it come up as a new window. This will help lessen the chance your site visitors will leave your website completely. People don’t use the back button as often, so it increases your chances of the person to continue to peruse your site if the RSS feeds pop up as new browsers.

As you design your RSS feeds, include your company’s contact information. This entails your website, any relevant contact information, and if possible, your logo. The more experience a person has with your website, the more frequently he or she will recall it when thinking of your products or services. Consequently, it also goes to say you need to make sure the experience is a positive one because it goes the same way with a negative experience, except it deters visitors from returning.

Use your feed within your own site. By promoting it within your own website, you can improve its standing on external search engines. Search engines often return results by the most frequently clicked first. If you don’t have enough faith in your own RSS feed to include it in your website, why would anyone else want to subscribe to it? At the same time, RSS feed search engines often return results alphabetically. Typically an English teacher would not count the word ‘A’ in a title when cataloguing it, but in RSS search engines, it is viewed as the first word of a title. Try to word your titles to begin with ‘A’ to improve their standing. As they are clicked on more and more, it will increase the feeds’ standings in other search engines.

In order to utilize your well written and constructed RSS feeds, remember to subscribe to them yourself. Nothing gives others’ faith in their content like seeing it on the originators’ website. Use keywords appropriately in titles because you can write multiple titles to fit the same content. You can also use themes to help capture the essence of your RSS feeds. Keep site visitors at your website by ‘instructing’ external RSS feeds to open in new browser windows. Lastly, don’t forget to include your company’s contact information with the website in your feeds. The more often these are put out to the general population, the more exposure you will get.

Now you have your new website and you are keen to start making some sales! But, how can you make sales if you do not have high volumes of traffic to your website?

One of the challenges which people starting a new online business face is that of getting traffic to their website. This article outlines four important steps you must follow to start generating some traffic to your website.

1. Have unique content on your website. Search engine robots look at all websites on a regular basis looking for sites with fresh and new content. It is therefore important for you to have fresh and high quality content which will get your website quickly indexed by search engines.

2. Have all your keywords on your website. It is important that you have all the relevant keywords and phrases that relate to your topic on your web pages and any articles you post on your website. This will increase your website ranking on search engines which means that your website will rank high when people type keywords relating to your topic on search engines. You will therefore get many visitors coming to your site via the search engines. When people visit your website, the high quality content you have will make people spend more time on your site and ultimately buy some of the products or services you offer on your site.

3. Because your website is new, you must submit it to search engines. Submitting your URL to the search engines is an important step towards getting more visitors because it means your website will be visible from search engines. Having your website URL on search engines means that when people look for information relating to your topic on these search engines, they will find your website.

4. Exchange some website links with websites that have a high popularity rank (PR). Exchanging links with popular and related websites is an effective way to drive traffic to your website, and improve the raking of your site. You will get some traffic coming to your website through other websites that you have linked to.

By following the tips outlined in this article, you will realize that increasing your website traffic and getting more people to visit your new website is very easy to do. All you need to do is to follow these steps and you will soon see an increase in traffic to your website which will mean a lot of sales and online profits for your internet business!

Blogs have arrived as a means to get your message across in a personal way. Articles are usually considered to be more informative and accurate where details are concerned. From a search engine perspective, both are a great source of information. But which one to rank better?

First, let’s look at the value each one brings:

Blogs:

Timely, personal, have “inside point of view” usually updated on a frequent basis

Articles:

Informative, Authorative, detailed, marketing driven.

From a freshness perspective, Blogs clearly win out over the articles.

Exposure:
Unless your blog is highly ranked, the articles will get more exposure, since there are more chances of your article being seen by more people. There are many sources on the internet that you can submit your articles to, here is a link for some: http://www.ekamsoftwares.com

From a business perspective, I can tell you that articles help re-enforce what you are selling. By writing an article instead of a blog, there is a perception that more care is taken to writing an article, therefore the information contained within is worth more.

People know that a blog will have a personal spin to it, whether the author is blasting a company, or promoting something that they have a personal or professional interest in.

From my own trials, no one has made any purchases for any product being pushed in a blog, but instead there has a distinguishable influx of sales that can be directly traced back to an article.

So what does this mean to you?

If you have a product or service you want to promote, use an article. If you need to get something off your chest, create a blog. While both are thought of very well by the search engines, you’re ultimate goal is to convert the user, not confuse the search engines.

If you’re not thinking about this, you need to get started, and if you have started, how is it working out?

Google seems to be at a defining moment in time with it’s penalizing sites with paid links, and almost constant shifts to the algorithm that make the SERPs a guessing game just about everyday.

So what are you doing now to make sure your site survives should it be hit by a Google penalty? You might be ranked very well today and making great money from the traffic that Google sends to your site naturally – so what if they flag your site for some deserved or un-merited form of spam?

With so many people gaming the system, no wonder Google lashes out at the SEO community on occasion. We’re the ones pushing them to provide more relevant results while at the same time doing things that some would question on a moral level.

Point is, Google delivers a ton of traffic. But the web is VERY big, and Google is not the be all and end all. You should be constantly looking for other ways to deliver traffic to your site such as:

Be active in forums – answer questions without trying to sell our product or service – instead, demonstrate your expertise in your answers and people will realize that what you say is worthy, and in turn will use your product or service when they are ready.

Write articles! I know it’s old and tiresome and boring – but like the first point, it’s a great way to not only show off what you know, but in inject your writing style. Some people will read you not for your content, but because they like the way you put things into perspective. Don’t underestimate that.

Ask for help – I know a lot of people have trouble with this, but when my car breaks down, I have no trouble calling a mechanic. Use this same approach on the web. If you need help with a problem seek out the people who can help you. Many times in that process there is an exchange of information that leads to a deeper and “real” relationship – leverage that for links!

Tell ‘em what you think – this applies to blogs, forums, articles and email responses. Why pretend to be something you’re not? Like is too short to pussyfoot around and to be taken advantage of by other people.

Use your clients! I know I just said don’t let others abuse you, and now I am saying to use your clients? What I mean is, your clients have other relationships as well, and if you perform well for them, they will refer you to their other business relationships.

See a pattern here? While Google is great for delivering text-based computer crunched results, at the end of the day, human relations (social engineering) is what makes you money. Treat people with respect, end any relationship with grace, and you’ll see that over time, that crazy thing called karma makes it way back to you.

Azure Services Platform is an application platform in the cloud that allows applications to be hosted and run at Microsoft datacenters. It provides a cloud operating system called Windows Azure that serves as a runtime for the applications and provides a set of services that allows development, management and hosting of applications off-premises. All Azure Services and applications built using them run on top of Windows Azure.

Windows Azure have three core components Compute, Storage, Fabric. As name suggested Compute Provides computation environment with Web Role and Worker Role while Storage focuses on providing scalable storage (Blobs, Tables, Queue) for large scale needs.

The hosting environment of Windows Azure is called the Fabric Controller – which pools individual systems into a network that automatically manages resources, load balancing, geo-replication and application lifecycle without requiring the hosted apps to explicitly deal with those requirements. In addition, it also provides other services that most applications require — such as the Windows Azure Storage Service that provides applications with the capability to store unstructured data such as binary large objects, queues and non-relational tables. Applications can also use other services that are a part of the Azure Services Platform.

Azure Services Platform provides an API built on REST, HTTP and XML that allows a developer to interact with the services provided by Windows Azure. A client-side managed class library is also provided that encapsulates the functions of interacting with the services. It also integrates with Microsoft Visual Studio so that it can be used as the IDE to develop and publish Azure-hosted applications.

Use Windows Azure to:

* Run commodity processes in the cloud
* Build, modify, and distribute scalable applications with minimal on-premises resources
* Perform large-volume storage, batch processing, intense or large-volume computations
* Create, test, debug, and distribute Web services quickly and inexpensively

Windows Azure Benefits

* Reduce costs of building and extending on-premises resources
* Reduce the effort and costs of IT management
* Respond quickly to changes in your business and customer needs
* Choose an on-premises or off-premises deployment model that best suits your needs.
* Scale your IT resources up and down based on your needs.
* Consume computing resources ONLY when the needs arise.
* Focus less energy on managing operational resources and constraints.
* Use your existing development skills to build cloud applications
* Consistent development and management experience across on-premises and the cloud.

Microsoft Corp. today announced the immediate availability of Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Beta 2 and Microsoft .NET Framework 4 Beta 2 to MSDN subscribers; general availability will follow on Oct. 21. The company also outlined a simplified product lineup and pricing options for Visual Studio 2010 as well as new benefits for MSDN subscribers, including the Ultimate Offer, available to all active MSDN Premium subscribers at the official product launch on March 22, 2010.

Customers should begin investigating the significant innovations in each of the technologies today. New testing options in Visual Studio 2010 will help ensure quality code. Enhancements to the integrated development environment mean that whether modeling, coding, testing or debugging, developers can use existing skills to deploy a growing number of application types. Built-in tools for Windows 7 and Microsoft SharePoint 2010, new drag and drop bindings for Silverlight and Windows Presentation Foundation, and interoperability with innovative technologies (such as those for the database, ASP.NET model view controller, unified modeling language, Expression, and multicore) allow developers to bring their visions to life. With the .NET Framework 4, developers can experience immensely smaller deployments with up to an 81 percent reduction in the framework size when using the Client Profile. Other .NET Framework 4 developer benefits include additional support for industry standards, inclusion of the Dynamic Language Runtime for more language choice, new support for high-performance middle-tier applications (including parallel programming, workflow and service-oriented applications) and backward compatibility through side-by-side installation with .NET Framework 3.5.

“Developers face demanding, complex and fast-paced environments today; this next wave of tools and technologies will help simplify the development process from design to deployment and will enable developers to use their existing skills and knowledge to build better software, faster,” said S. Somasegar, senior vice president of the Developer Division at Microsoft. “Now is the time to test drive the new functionality and features in these releases, which address everything from Windows 7 and SharePoint support to collaboration and life-cycle management.”

With the Ultimate Offer, active MSDN Premium subscribers will be transitioned to a higher-level Visual Studio 2010 with MSDN subscription at launch. This provides access to an unprecedented amount of resources, including test and development rights for Microsoft server software (including Windows Server 2008 R2 and Microsoft SQL Server 2008), Microsoft Office, and premium Visual Studio tools.

“The 2010 wave is not only about innovation but about helping our customers get significantly more for their investments,” said Dave Mendlen, senior director of developer marketing at Microsoft. “The Ultimate Offer and new MSDN subscriber benefits combine to give developers access to high-quality tools, training and community support while at the same time providing organizations with an immensely better value for their money.”

Microsoft has also simplified the product lineup for Visual Studio 2010 and announced pricing details. In the next version, customers will be able to choose from three main versions of Visual Studio 2010:
•

Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate with MSDN. The comprehensive suite of application life-cycle management tools for software teams to help ensure quality results from design to deployment
•

Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Premium with MSDN. A complete toolset to help developers deliver scalable, high-quality applications
•

Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Professional with MSDN. The essential tool for basic development tasks to assist developers in implementing their ideas easily

Also today, Microsoft unveiled new benefits for MSDN subscribers, including these:
•

Unlimited access to Visual Studio Team Foundation Server 2010 (upon release), a server product that drives down the risks and costs of developing software by enhancing team collaboration
•

Azure Development, which enables MSDN Premium subscribers to develop on the Windows Azure platform (Microsoft’s cloud services platform) with compute hours, storage, data transfers, SQL Azure databases and .NET Services.
•

Complimentary e-learning, up to 40 hours per year, per subscriber

To help developers access the wealth of online resources in a more streamlined fashion, Microsoft has also updated the MSDN Web site, which now features an updated user interface, a faster version of the MSDN Library and more community resources.

Founded in 1975, Microsoft (Nasdaq “MSFT”) is the worldwide leader in software, services and solutions that help people and businesses realize their full potential.

Now that windows 7 has been released and all signs are pointing towards a migration away from windows XP and Vista, a number of questions arise for business users.

Do all my other applications I depend on work on Windows 7?
Will the performance of my applications be affected?

For everyone running SAP Business One, we can answer both of these critical questions.

Does SAP Business One run in Windows 7? YES

Does SAP Business One performance improve with Windows 7? YES
There are also many new features of Windows 7 that will make using business applications, such as SAP Business One and Crystal Reports, more user friendly.

One of the cool little aspects of Windows 7 that will make using SAP Business One even easier to use:

For those of you who frequently have multiple windows of SBO open, Windows 7 offers an enhanced taskbar that makes managing open windows much simpler. In the new taskbar when you mouse over the SAP Icon you will see a thumbnail of each open window of SAP and can easily select which company to start working in, making multiple company management a breeze.

In short Windows 7 has proved a robust and seamless upgrade that has passed Ekam Software Services (ESS)’s SAP Business One stress test with flying colors and I would recommend anyone who is interested in upgrading to do so.
